Christmas Cooking

So I saved a lot of culinary endeavors for the last few days leading up to Christmas. I maybe should have managed this a little differently, but since I felt fairly normal it was nice to be back in the kitchen. Eric and I had a lot of fun. And it was delicious.

My self-assigned schedule was as follows:

Monday, December 17, 2012: Peppermint Bark (Eric did this all on his own--research, shopping, all of it--and it turned out delicious)

Tuesday, December 18, 2012: Peanut Butter filling (to be dipped at a later date) and Marshmallows

Peanut Butter Centers...flat circles didn't dip so well.
The 2nd time around we made normal circles.
Marshmallows before getting cut.
Wednesday, December 19, 2012: Caramels

These take forever but they are by far my favorite treat ever.
Our baby will be coming out 2 parts baby and 1 part caramel after how much of this I ate.
Thursday, December 20, 2012: Banana Bread (for a baby shower), Mazetta (marshmallow cream to go in the fondant) and maybe Divinity? (Mary's request)

The first try was a bust (see that flat runny disc of something in the background).
The 2nd try was much more successful.
Friday, December 21, 2012: Divinity take 2, Fondant (also to be dipped), and Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

Saturday, December 22, 2012: Shape and dip the chocolates

Tools of the trade.

Sunday, December 23, 2012: Package and Deliver

Monday, December 24, 2012: orange rolls, au gratin potatoes, died and gone to heaven chocolate mousse cake/amazing-ness.

Awesome. We doubled it.

I could have eaten a whole pan of these myself.
I'm learning the Miller's like their Chocolate cake...This was a Triple Chocolate Mousse.
Ridiculously rich but like heaven in your boca.
Look how focused he is :)
