Claire is 9 months!

Yikes! How is my baby no longer a baby?

At her doctor's visit yesterday she was declared healthy, a "looker," and "very advanced." Either Dr. Epstein has mastered the art of mom flattery or our daughter is truly the bees knees.

She is 16 pounds 10.5 ounces and 27 inches tall. Definitely petite.

We were told there were no shots at this visit (yeah!) but then we had to have a lead test (duh duh dun--and notice I say "we" because, yes, it is traumatic for the both of us...). Here is a classic Eric/Libby difference: I started looking for new apartments in case our current place is poisoning our baby where, when I told Eric the results (which came back just fine), there was zero celebration. Zero reaction really. He gave me nothing.

Other Claire updates:
- She is not interested in crawling. She wants to skip directly to walking and if you don't walk her she is not happy about it.

- Her new favorite place to play is in her pack and play in our room where the sides are just the perfect height for her to chew and walk her way around the four sides. Like I said-sitter is no longer good enough for her and she's wearing our backs out!

- She hasn't been eating during the day because there is so much to do and see (and I think she's teething). That means we've been getting up two or three times a night to house a bottle. Not awesome for the mom but starting to normalize. We only got up once last night and I feel great.

- Yesterday I left her sitting on the rug while I changed the laundry and when I came back she had rolled into her tummy and wiggled her way onto the hardwood where she was doing a PUFFERFISH (!!!) on the floor. Gross. Maybe this is her way of telling me I need to mop.
