Turkey Trot 2013

Every year I say I want to do a Turkey Trot and I never do. Then, after eating myself into a food comma, I seriously regret my life choices. This year, I'm proud to say, I won't have those regrets. I may have frost bite in my fingers and wind chaffed cheeks but I can say I ran my turkey off.

A few weeks ago Mary and I picked a route, sent out emails, and ordered shirts (with an awesome Eric Miller original logo) and this morning we had 25 brave souls hitting the pavement of Arlington-in 30 degree weather with a wind chill of who knows what. Mary warned us about the hills and the route but we were NOT prepared and I probably should have picked up a copy of the route because my decision to simply follow the runner in front of me proved a bad choice since I didn't notice they were wearing a Boston marathon jacket and were definitely not part of our group...which I only realized after missing the turn and leading 8 other people up a wicked hill. Whoops. Thank heavens Aly had her phone...
