Hopkinton State Park

Last summer before Eric and I got married we went exploring and found Hopkinton State Park. After your $5 fee you are in for the day. There's hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, BBQ-ing, and pretty much groups of people playing every sport imaginable. When my family decided to head to Walden pond instead of to a "real" beach I suggested going to Hopkinton because it had a bigger beach, bathroom facilities, and I really like it. It reminds me of Swallows and Amazons (a book we read when we were little that I'll write more about later).

What I really love about Hopkinton is that there are so many different kinds of people; it's a very diverse crowd and everybody is fixing their own kind of food, blaring their own kind of music, and having their own kind of fun. It's great and we had a fabulous day.

The waterfront and our lifeguards in case we swam on the wrong side of the ropes.
Homebase. We actually had to use our umbrellas for rain instead of sun when it started to drizzle.
Never had to do that before with my beach umbrella.
Z in all her glory with sand everywhere including in her sandwich.
Lucy in the swimming pool she dug. She spent a long time filling it with water.
Look at that angel face....
And along came Gollum...what happened?!?
Z tried to drink as much water as possible when we weren't looking--gross.
But I guess that's better than when she was sucking on the rocks she picked up off the bottom of the lake.
Peter going for a swim.
Before the life guard told him he couldn't use his floaties he made it all the way to the far ropes and back.
Of course I was nervous and tried to "save" him when really I could have used the floaties myself..
